OUR GOAL OF IMPROVING THE GENERAL WELFARE AND CONDITION OF INMATES AND PRISON STAFF

CDAJDPCI Visited the Nigerian correctional service Abakaliki branch as part of its ongoing mission to promote dignity, care, and improved living conditions for incarcerated individuals. The visit reflects the Commission’s longstanding commitment to supporting vulnerable members of society, including inmates within correctional facilities. During the outreach, CDAJDPCI provided assistance to prison staff in identifying and locating incarcerated individuals to ensure better care, attention, and welfare support.

Advocacy has remained a central focus of the Commission’s work, particularly in promoting access to justice and advancing the prerogative of mercy for deserving inmates. Through these efforts, CDAJDPCI continues to champion compassion, rehabilitation, and reintegration as key pillars of correctional service support.

On February 15, 2022, the Commission formally visited the facility and successfully strengthened its existing partnership with the correctional authorities. The engagement further deepened collaboration between CDAJDPCI and government humanitarian agencies, reinforcing a shared commitment to improving the lives of those in custody.

CDAJDPCI remains dedicated to sustaining such initiatives and will continue to work closely with correctional institutions to foster hope, justice, and positive transformation within the prison community.
